**RouteFlick Editorial**Product guide from the team building RouteFlick

Published July 20, 2026Updated October 5, 2026

Every family has a geography: the village someone left, the ship that crossed an ocean, the city where they started over, the moves that led to you. Told as an animated map -- the route drawing itself across a globe, generation by generation -- it becomes the five-minute centrepiece of a reunion, a milestone birthday or a memorial.

About this guide and its evidence

Published by RouteFlick, the maker of the product described here. This is first-party guidance, not an independent review.

Route previews are actual exports. An example route illustrates a workflow; it does not prove every feature or a competitor's output. Export speed depends on your device.

Creator workflow and comparison documentation reviewed October 5, 2026. Named vendor sources support the documented facts; this is not a purchased-plan test or an export-speed benchmark. Unknown specifications are marked as not verified. Confirm current terms before buying.

**Real product, not a mockup.** This is the RouteFlick studio and export flow used to make the videos described in this guide.

## Build it generation by generation

1. Start at the earliest place you know -- the village, the port, the old country.
2. Add each move as a stop: the emigration leg by boat (it follows real shipping lanes, so the Atlantic crossing looks like the crossing it was), the later moves by rail or road.
3. Title card: the family name and the span -- "The Rossi Family - 1902-2026".
4. End at the places the family lives now -- one route fanning into the present.

## Photos make it personal

Attach the old photographs at each stop -- the sepia portrait at the origin village, the dockside arrival photo, the first house. Old photos over a moving map is a genuinely emotional combination; expect tears at the reunion.

💡 The Vintage map style -- soft paper tones -- suits a century-spanning story far better than a bright modern map. Pair it with a quiet piano track from the built-in library.

## Sharing it

Export widescreen for the reunion screen and vertical for the family group chat. Video rendering runs on your device. Saving to your account or sharing can upload family photos, so check your sharing choices -- and the free plan's HD export is plenty for a TV.

Genealogy sites give you the records. This gives the story a shape everyone in the room can follow -- including the seven-year-olds.
