The Wild Atlantic Way is Ireland's signposted west-coast touring route, from the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal down to Kinsale in County Cork. Most road trips drive one section of it, not the whole coast. This guide covers the southern half, Galway to Cork, and the video on this page is that exact trip rendered in RouteFlick.

About this guide and its evidence

Published by RouteFlick, the maker of the product described here. This is first-party guidance, not an independent review.

Route previews are actual exports. An example route illustrates a workflow; it does not prove every feature or a competitor's output. Export speed depends on your device.

Creator workflow and comparison documentation reviewed October 5, 2026. Named vendor sources support the documented facts; this is not a purchased-plan test or an export-speed benchmark. Unknown specifications are marked as not verified. Confirm current terms before buying.

## The route in the example

1. Galway: the start of the southern half.
2. Cliffs of Moher: south through County Clare to the cliff edge.
3. Dingle: the peninsula and its Slea Head loop.
4. Killarney: the lakes, and the gateway to the Iveragh Peninsula.
5. Ring of Kerry: the loop around the Iveragh Peninsula.
6. Cork: the finish, close to the route's southern end at Kinsale.

Every leg is a drive. In this export all five legs follow real road geometry rather than straight arcs. Route coverage varies by trip, and a leg without an available road route can fall back to an arc.

## Variants worth making

- The northern half: start in Donegal and drive south through Sligo and Mayo to Galway. Add the stops and the road legs re-route.
- A Connemara opening: start west of Galway for lakes and bog before the drive south.
- Fly in: add Dublin or Shannon as the first stop with a flight leg, so the video shows how you reached the coast.

## The Wild Atlantic Way look

- Map style: Natural is the free default, a muted grade that suits green hills and grey Atlantic water. Vivid and Satellite are free too; Vintage is a Pro style.
- Camera: Cinematic is free and gives the classic chase along the coast. Flow and Horizon are Pro cameras.
- Terrain: the default relief is free; moving the terrain slider is a Pro control.
- Route colour: a bright green or white line reads clearly against the coast.

## Photos and pacing

1. Cliffs of Moher: the cliff edge, the photo that carries most west-coast recaps.
2. Dingle: one harbour or Slea Head shot.
3. Ring of Kerry: a single empty-road photo explains the drive better than a caption.
4. Cork: an arrival shot, so the video ends somewhere.
