The NC500 is a loop with a personality: single-track roads, weather with opinions, and coastline that looks stolen from somewhere much further north. The map video's job is to show the loop closing -- and to make the emptiness look like the luxury it is.

About this guide and its evidence

Published by RouteFlick, the maker of the product described here. This is first-party guidance, not an independent review.

Route previews are actual exports. An example route illustrates a workflow; it does not prove every feature or a competitor's output. Export speed depends on your device.

Creator workflow and comparison documentation reviewed October 5, 2026. Named vendor sources support the documented facts; this is not a purchased-plan test or an export-speed benchmark. Unknown specifications are marked as not verified. Confirm current terms before buying.

## The routes

-   The classic loop: Inverness -> Applecross -> Ullapool -> Durness -> John o' Groats -> Inverness.
- The Skye detour: drop south to Portree between Applecross and Ullapool -- most first-timers do.
- The whisky version: add Speyside stops on the way home and rename the title card accordingly.

## The Highland look

- B&W or Vintage for the moody-weather edit; Vivid when the weather cooperated.
- Terrain on -- Torridon and the northwest look properly mountainous in relief.
- Vehicle: camper. The NC500 is a campervan pilgrimage and the video should say so.
- Route colour: heather purple on B&W is a quietly great combination.

## Settings to copy

1. Speed 1x -- it's only ~500 miles; the video stays tight naturally.
2. Photos: the Bealach na Bà summit, an empty beach at Durness, the John o' Groats sign.
3. Let the loop close fully back at Inverness before the end-zoom.

💡 Miles, not km, and badges visible -- '516 miles' is the number every NC500 post is built around.
