Published July 20, 2026Updated October 5, 2026

Every September the same Reel wins: an animated map sweeping through someone's summer -- the flight out, the islands, the road legs, the photos landing stop by stop. The trick is that the people who post it in September built it in July, adding stops as the trip happened. Here's the playbook while your summer is still in progress.

About this guide and its evidence

Published by RouteFlick, the maker of the product described here. This is first-party guidance, not an independent review.

Route previews are actual exports. An example route illustrates a workflow; it does not prove every feature or a competitor's output. Export speed depends on your device.

Creator workflow and comparison documentation reviewed October 5, 2026. Named vendor sources support the documented facts; this is not a purchased-plan test or an export-speed benchmark. Unknown specifications are marked as not verified. Confirm current terms before buying.

## Build it as you go

1. Start the trip now: add the stops you've already done, with the real modes -- the flight out, the ferry, the drives.
2. After each leg, add the next stop and drop in one or two photos while they're still your favourites.
3. End of summer: pick the music, set the title card -- "Summer 2026" -- and export. Five minutes, because the work happened along the way.

## The summer look

- Vivid is the summer style -- saturated water, bright land, made for coastlines.
- Sea legs for the island hops: they follow real ferry lanes and read instantly as boat days.
- Emoji labels earn their keep in summer: 🏖 🍦 ⛵ tell the story before the photos land.

💡 Trips still coming up? Save the trip to the cloud and it syncs -- add the August stops from your phone on the beach, export from the laptop when you're home.

## The September post

Export vertical, 15-35 seconds (speed control at 1.5x if the summer got ambitious), and post it the first week of September when everyone's feed turns nostalgic. It's the highest-performing week of the year for recap content -- and yours will be the one with the map.
